Dipthycon: Oil on canvas, 60 x 60 x 4 cm, Textprint on Alubond, 12 x 60 x 0,3 cm. From all sides of the square canvas we see dark red brush strokes striving towards the light white-yellow centre. The red becomes continuously lighter towards the centre before disappearing into the light in the centre, creating an effect of depth. The structure of the pasty oil paint reinforces the spatial effect and seems to set the colour movements in motion (seen from different angles). The dance around the centre centres us and ultimately goes through the light centre into another dimension of moving calm. The square canvas is mounted on an extra deep stretcher frame (4cm) and painted on all sides, which emphasises the 3D character. This painting captures the transformative power of light breaking through darkness and creating space for new things. It exudes a warm, energetic aura. Textprint on Alubond, 12 x 60 x 0,3 cm: "Those who stand in the dark cannot be seen. Activate your spotlight of mind! A.: It doesn't work without the external light. C.: But it doesn't work either without our "inner" light of mindfulness, with which we focus on something or someone. A.: Who or what do we focus our attention on? C.: Focus on the other person, subject or work of Art - instead of just focusing on yourself. A.: Yes, but is there really a substantial exchange? C.: Most of the time it's just likes and dislikes. Or we let ourselves be carried away and manipulated by others (influencers, emotion- makers, politicians etc.) A.: But it should be all about seeing and thinking on your own. As a free individual, to perceive and recognize the uniqueness of others and to enter into a real dialogue. C.: Notice and decide what and who we bring from the darkness of the periphery into the “bright focus” of our conscious perception. A.: Exactly. More light please! And more sovereign alignment of our mindful spotlights!"

« I think that art can create a free space in which the constructive and lively imagination is stimulated. » Andreas Kuhn is an established German artist who exhibits internationally. His works can be found in private collections in Australia, Germany, England, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and USA. With wide bristle brushes, the artist brings the colors onto the canvas in swinging and sweeping brush strokes. The pasty consistency of the oil colors allows each brush trace to remain visible as a relief-like structure. Kuhn often overlays several painting layers to form a complex tissue. The light is refracted and reflected by these color structures in such a way that the image appears different and in motion from every viewing angle. Unleashing the power of colors, balancing counter-movements, modulating light: Kuhn is concerned with the harmonious balancing of all picture elements. One subject of his art is the balancing act itself, the dynamic balance of a variety of viewing options. The artist always works in painting cycles, in which he plays through a common theme, a certain color, different color contrasts and paint application, as well as a special kind of mobility, rhythm, etc. in variations. «My art is pure joy in playing with the variety of color nuances, color intensity, color contrasts, color movements, color jumps ... that can radiate far beyond the playing field. This is serious business. Keep playing too ... Lucky You!»
