Lightness of weight Painting

Tea Lovrić (b. 1997) is a Zagreb-based artist. The existential drama within each of us motivates her to repeatedly create visual representations of life. Creating art feels like embarking on a daily journey through the desert, forest or mountains; it's a means of escape and a quest for truth. The way she expresses herself is influenced by various stimuli: the environment is adorned with impactful, expressive typography or charming, soft-hued characters; buildings display different levels of wear and tear; graffiti adds to the visual landscape; music influences the heartbeat's rhythm and synchronizes it with its own; and new products come onto the market with packaging that may not seem related to the color of the product itself. The result is an unreal, colorful landscape, reminiscent of a scene from a supermarket; when viewed with a squint. She's drawn to a multitude of colors because they surround us, but this love for bright colors also helps her to embrace the joy of playful experimentation, keeping alive the spirit of childhood within her. The lack of references to characters and cities is like a peaceful rebellion. It signifies a yearning for nature, an embrace of the fundamental and essential aspects of life. She creates abstract compositions that always evoke a sense of space, underscored by a horizon line. She intends to encourage viewers to engage in contemplation as they gaze into the distance.
