ABOUT THE ARTWORK
As the painting evolved, the abstract forms gradually began to coalesce into a more recognizable scene. The trees emerged organically from the abstract background, their trunks and branches formed by the rich, textured paint that had been layered and sculpted. The trees in the final piece have a strong, protective presence. Their thick, textured bark seems almost tangible, and the layers of paint give them a solid, enduring quality.
