It is part of a series that replicates the same subject. In the case of still lifes the objects represented always seem the same. Instead, I focused on minimal variations in lighting and tone, while still maintaining the same colors. The works also vary in size and point of view. The objects are painted with brushstrokes that create soft surfaces and take on a rubbery appearance. I chose a little saturated color range. In fact, there are several grays, ivory and white, ocher and light green hues. This base contrasts with more saturated colors such as orange, yellow and dark ocher. The represented lighting creates a suffused and almost unreal atmosphere. The light is vivid and also lightens the shadows on the objects. The chiaroscuro is thus flattened. Shadows and lights are created with two-dimensional backgrounds that dematerialize objects. Space in the still life is essential. The objects are, in fact, arranged on a plane not represented in depth. The rear edge thus coincides with the horizon line. The depth seems to have been canceled and is limited to the distance, which can only be understood, between the objects and the back wall. This too is not represented. Its absence contributes, therefore, to make spatiality a conceptual figure. Only a slight inclination of the plan suggests depth. In the painting the objects of still life are gathered almost at the center of the pictorial space. This slight deviation from the central vertical creates a freer and less rigid composition. The group of objects forms a compact mass of uncertain and almost organic forms. This center is opposed to the linearity of the support plane.
