I find the sheer end to a rolling landscape quite fascinating and an endless painting inspiration. The chalky cliffs reflect the light beautifully and contrast crisply against the surrounding colours. This piece explores a foreshortened view along the cliff edge looking at the colourful relationship between cliff, sea and sky. Being next to the sea is crucial for my work as my fascination with seascape painting allows me to refine the capture of fast changing light. The South facing coastline enjoys the sweep of the sun all day creating a vast array of light effects and reflections.
