ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I don’t try to represent realities or tangible matters but see myself rather as an abstract painter, tending to abstract expressionism. Visual experiences, images that haunt me, influences I try to visualize – all that surrounds me becomes a part of my narrative, consciously and subconsciously. Neither background nor foreground; the elements of the composition – abstract shapes some-times resembling floral or organic forms – are connected, they float in space, establish rela-tionships between them – nothing is isolated. Parity of pictorial planes, parity of pictorial ele-ments, controlled gestures versus random gestures, so many visible traces of a confrontation between the conscious and the unconscious. I try to evoke a visual poetry, wanting to invite the spectator to enter my world, a world without a central point, sometimes light as a feather, then heavy as lead; be seduced by my language, my colors. An animated world full of movement, with its personal aesthetic, with rough and confronting sides at the same time, delicate and almost tender, caressing... This artwork is on paper and will be sent rolled up.

When I start a painting I have no idea what will come of it - my work is the result of acting, reacting and reacting to reaction. Spontaneous declarations, snapshots. I try to evoke a visual poetry, wanting to invite the spectator to enter my world, a world without a central point, sometimes light as a feather, then voluminous like a piece of lead; be seduced by my language, my colors.
