ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I made this work 'en plain air' in Lesbos Greece. I sat with my easel near the water.Everyday the fisherman came to see how far I was with the painting. I also painted the sides of the cavas so the image goes on to the sides. I love to bring the outside in. In this case I brought a piece of Greece inside the house. I used oil because the colors are the most bright and lifelike. Also because painting with oil is a slow poces it holds the feeling, emotions and atmosphere. When you look at the painting it speaks to you about all these sensations.

Also oil has the capacity to hold the emotions and the atmospere into the paint. So that if you look at the painting for a longer time it really comes to life. I like to paint directly 'en plein air'. For me color is the most important. Before form there is color.
