Local Heroes Painting

My modern American Folk Art painting "Local Heros" focuses on the importance of our community service members and the appreciation we have for their making our community safe. Whether these members come from the police force, fire department, school, or clergy, each is as beneficial as the next in representing the diverse nation we all live in. My painting highlights their commitment, service, kindness and heroism, and their efforts to protect and interact with our community. I depict this through the use of bright colors, dynamic composition, and local imagery. The flat stacking of professions gives a simplistic element to a complex intertwining under grid of society. The simplistic folk art style is a perfect tool to reach all who view this painting. I have tied every sector together with a road to follow, which unites us all at the local city hall that is highlighted in vivid white to draw the eye in. The inclusion of an American flag in all of my paintings is a reminder of this great nation we live in protected by those in which we respect. "Local Heros" participated in the La Quinta Museum show Woman in the Arts. Painting has a 7/8 inch black floater frame. The painting has a wire on the back ready for hanging.
