VIEW IN MY ROOM
Surrounded by old barns here in New England it seemed appropriate to look to them for inspiration. I have painted many landscapes featuring an old and distant barn, but it seemed to me that the character often lay 'close-up' in the details. It often seemed to me that the metal fixtures on these grand old buildings were merging into the wood itself, becoming like the wood - breaking down, rusting and disintegrating.
