Daphne Poiri is a French artist, who lives close to Paris, in Asnières sur Seine. Her two greatest passions have always been classical dance and drawing. After graduating from a well-known fashion school in Paris, she became a fashion designer, then a stylist, and modeller. After the birth of her third child, she discovered she had a passion for painting, so she decided to take her first painting class in a Parisian workshop. On her gesso-covered canvases, Daphné paints first with gasoline and oil. This creates the same depth that one can find in the masterpieces of ancient masters, achieved through long, laborious precision. The themes of her paintings, characters, fashion design, and dance illustrate personal aspects of her life. Even in a close-up of painted roses can find a parallel to her life story. Daphné has always been attracted to architecture. After multiple trips to New York, she has begun to embellish on this theme in her most current exhibition which reached its competition. The grand opening of her exhibition was on December 2013, in the Grand Palais in Paris, where some of the most famous French painters have their work on display.
