"Lost & Stolen" Painting

I guess I like to work with mediums which would become a problem but to then evolve into what I believed would be a new direction of thought, almost destroying the process to make beautiful. The burning of my personal clothes seems to reflect my departure from fashion, a moving forward into all along what I believed in was my heart & head, to paint in an unauthorised manner. For my process to be fulfilled I need to be covered in Bitumen myself, I need to put my hands in my pocket and empty them out with burnt ash, it's myself becoming the painting.

The wood burner become the focus of my work, I would take
my clothes off and burn them in the wood burner. The ash would become an obsession using my broken chair legs as guide lines for my paintings, a twig which I've kept and won't let go became my tools. I started creating shapes with the industrial sewing machine, I would create the frame and add seam allowance as I would when creating a dress, I would
create brush strokes with the sewing machine. Many processes I would stumble upon, domestic paints and bitumen, which is a vicious black tar-like liquid, would become my formula.

Decoys are very important to my vision, to confuse the viewer of the final outcome, to confuse and to provoke but the foundations are simple - the viewer concludes the painting not myself, I'm just the giver - the viewer can take with the idea and conclude their own vision. The military kit bags have history, travelled the world, passed from one soldier to the next, but it's a simple shape of canvas which I viewed as my painting - decoy would be used as titles - the titles are decoys with no relevance at all but as to put off the scent of the viewer. Mis-fire, and exploding painting created from Fabriano paper, stitched to the canvas then destroyed to disgust, I would hate it then fall in love with it.
