Love Is Love Painting

This subtle piece makes a literal and figurative statement about loving something or someone. Love Is Love is a title that came to me after painting this piece with finite subtle pencil and charcoal mark-making and the colors that were chosen to create it. I was talking with a friend and she told me the story about her daughter, who had recently married someone different from anyone's expectations - in her mind. It appeared she was curious about what my reaction would be and I mentioned it wasn't my place, but that love is love. Ironically, I asked some people if they could see something in the painting that would inspire a title. I received two great titles. I thought they might fit another painting down the line. I've never asked before, so I'm not quite certain why I asked this time. It was only through this conversation that I would inevitably come up with the title of the piece. Incidentally, I had mentioned on social media how much I loved this nameless piece of work. I seldom say it out loud if I do adore something that I make. The two were put together and like magic, the title fit the painting perfectly for me. Love Is Love. Yes, I do love it! It was created using acrylic paint, gesso, pencil, charcoal, spray fixative to adhere the mark-making to the canvas, and Satin varnish until it is sold, at which point I will gloss varnish it. This piece can go in different directions, therefore it isn't signed on the front. That can be determined after it sells. It is currently wired as seen in the photo. It is dated January 2022, signed, and titled on the back of the canvas. It will come with a certificate of authenticity in the package.
