Growing up in Hamburg Germany, I spent many summers in the Lueneburger Heide surrounded by fields of heather. I've always drawn inspiration from the land. Earth tones will delight the eye and grey and white will add the light. Farms and plants give viewers a world of abstract forms and vivid hues.

Represented in the Whitney Biannual 2020 Whitney Museum, NYC January 2019 and 2002 I was Awarded the Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant in Painting, and an Artists’ Fellowship in Painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Director at Westbeth Gallery, 55 Bethune Street, New York City from 2016-2019, to present curator/jurist. I was born in Hamburg, Germany and live and work in New York City. I show with the June Kelly Gallery, NYC. I have shown my work in solo and group exhibitions in Europe and in the United States. In my travels throughout Europe, the Americas, India, Russia, and North Africa I draw and take photographs of the natural world. From these references I create mixed media paintings. I explore abstraction and representation and focus on the point of balance where the two worlds meet.
