The Lucky Cat, or welcoming cat, also known as maneki-neko, is a symbol that originated in Japan. In Japanese, maneki-neko means beckoning cat. The idea is that the cat is welcoming and greeting you. This lucky cat symbol is considered good luck to place in your home, office, or business. A maneki-nek that raises its right paw is said to bring “wealth”, whereas one that raises its left paw is said to bring “people” and “happiness. The little painting on wood is ready to hang. On backside with signature and embedded suspension. The painting is also perfect as a gift for a loved one. Check out my other Lucky Cats at Saatchi!
