Alexandra Heyes is an established painter specialising in figurative painting and portraiture with work in collections in the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand. Capturing the natural personality and the essence of her subjects with preliminary charcoal drawings she then prepares many of her own paints and mediums to achieve the beautiful hues and textures which are a signature of her painting.
Whilst living in Provence for a year Alexandra exhibited in Antibe, France in 1994 and was also invited to exhibit at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo. After returning to New Zealand and establishing the Atelier Galerie she has tutored and held numerous exhibitions. Her influences are mainly European, especially the Spanish and Italian painters, namely Velasquez, Goya and Caravaggio.
Alexandra Heyes is represented by Galerie Saint-Roch in Paris and continues to tutor privately as well as co-directing an artists retreat in Andalucía, Spain.
