ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Luscious is a unique mixed media approach to the new Mandala Re-imagined Series, exhibiting the complex layering of the acrylic abstract painting more prominently than her previous mandala works. In particular, this work incorporates black calligraphy ink derived from East Asia that reflects the cultural influences experienced by the artist. The signature threading is composed vertically on the outer sides of the work, creating an impression of unveiling for the subtly incorporated circular motif within the work. Luscious is an abstract approach towards the underlying theme of hope and positive outlooks found in this series.

She draws her inspiration from her travels, exploring the infinite expressiveness of her subjects through watercolours, acrylics and mixed media. Her delicately multilayered paintings explore the connections between landscape, memory and the subconscious through texture and the interplay of light and dark, creating an atmosphere that opens itself up to multiple meanings.
