Mama, I'm coming home, oil on canvas, is inspired by the longing for home, which is a recurrent idea in Melinda's work. There is a circular phenomenon as we come back to the place we left before. Melinda says: "The idea of homecoming is represented beautifully in the book of Paulo Coelho titled "The alchemist" where the hero leaves home for seeking the treasure and after many years of adversity and hardship he finds it at the very place he left. The feeling of insecurity while being away from home and at the same time the hope of returning back is the subject matter in the painting. The painting is on stretcher bars so it's ready to hang and it is varnished to be protected for generations to come. The sides of the painting are clean white, there are no paint drops or marks visible on it.

-Melinda is a London based artist. Her work focuses on philosophical and empirical questions emerging out of human experience, both individual and collective. Her main focus is the human condition and one's internal world one experiences amidst the expectations of society. She is interested in the present and the past, her paintings explore different points of view on existence. -Experimenting with colour is important in her creative process, as well as partially deconstructing the forms which allows her to find an equilibrium between figuration and abstraction. -Melinda was born as an ethnic Hungarian in Transylvania (Romania) in 1976 under the communist regime, and as a teenager she witnessed the sudden uprising of the people, which eventually ended it. She found the transition between the silent acceptance into the outburst of desire for freedom fascinating. Later this brought up Melinda’s interest in Psychology. -In 2009 she graduated from the University of Art and Design, Cluj receiving her BA in Fine Art, Painting. -In 2013 she moved to England.
