What really drew me into this piece was the perspective. I love the birds eye view and distortion of only certain parts of the kids' figures. The movement and playfulness of this piece is entrancing in person!

Kate Keery (b. 1998) is an American painter living in Brooklyn, New York. Her oil paintings capture everyday human interactions inspired by her coastal upbringing. With a romantic style and hyper-realistic technique, she uncovers beauty in the insignificant, highlighting the magic in unnoticed intimate moments. Keery studied painting at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Florence University of the Arts. Besides being a painter, she has experience as a curator and art instructor. Keery also worked with underprivileged populations globally, using art as a tool for advocacy.
