Marigolds is one of the Ukrainian national symbols. However, they did not always grow on our lands. These amazing flowers have an interesting history. According to ancient legends, they are magical, and their name is associated with the name of Tages, who was the grandson of Jupiter, was able to predict the future and, moreover, was famous for his bright beautiful appearance. Therefore, sunflowers are also called, from Latin, "tagetes" - in honor of the grandson of Jupiter. Native Americans, from where flowers were brought to Europe in the 16th century, also considered the plant a "magic guide" to help tribal shamans find yellow metal (gold).
