About The Artwork
This is an elegant, abstract artwork with lots of texture, drips, craters in white, silver and gold with touches of magenta and gold-green. Because of the texture it kind of resembles a quiet, calm planet. I painted this work on canvas board, so it does need a frame. I think it would look great in a narrow silver frame. The original artwork is a bit less blue than on the photographs. The work is protected by a satin spray varnish. 60 x 50 x 0.2 cm / 23.6 x 19.7 x 0.05 in

ARTIST STATEMENT: Life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture. INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. I have two lines of work: I love painting almost (but not quite) realistic, somewhat utopian, nature images and on the other hand I really enjoy doing non-objective/abstract art. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.
