This work is part of a series called Superstition.
I started working on it back in 2017 after visiting "Munich Residenz". The Palace was ones home for Bavarian royal family and the center of pilgrimage during the 16th Century Counter-Reformation because of its fine collection of christian relics. They are so magnificent, rich and glorious, that one gets stuck in the relatively small room of Reliquarium, mesmerized by the creepy beauty of its objects.
All this made me think of all the things we, humans, give meaning to and believe in.

It is a portrait of a traditional Bavarian wooden mask, used in winter carnival and traditional folks jamboree.
