ABOUT THE ARTWORK
One of my Journal Series of ideographs, relating to a language of imaginary symbols versus pictographs of realist objects. . Rather than use words on lines as in a personal journal, I have four lines with automatic ideographs as verbal substitues. . I like to view works of other artists, such as Klee, Gottlieb, Ida Kohlmeyer, etc. Also, I studied the oriental and african scripts of languages for ideas that may resurrect in painting spontaneously.

I am a native of New Orleans and have been painting abstracts and on-site paintings for many years. I paint mostly abstract landscapes in a series with a common theme. The ideas come from the outdoors, the colorful images, that are in my mind from my plein air paintings. I incorporate the forms, shapes,structures,and colors that I see and remain in my subconsciousness. They become alive and evolve on the canvases as I paint extemporaneously.
