ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by my native country Tanzanian tribes Mdundiko is one of the traditional and ritual dances (ngoma) of the Zaramo people living in the Dar es Salaam area, in Tanzania. Mdundiko dances are associated with weddings and the rites of passage celebrating female puberty. Mdundiko dance painting will bring some energy to any of your rooms! Music instruments Music is an international language, by placing a variety of instruments in the artworks I want to contribute to this international conversation. I always felt that I would make a contribution to the art community whether it was in singing, playing instruments, painter (Artist), or anything involving feeling. When I was painting these pieces, it was like the paint was singing while I put each stroke onto the canvas. At the end of the creation complete harmony was reached through the completion of the image.

Hi, my name is Abu Mwenye. I am a Tanzanian American artist living here in the US. My areas of specialty are: Acrylic paintings, oils, commission works, and really anything which challenges my creative mind. My interest in Art was inspired by my Uncle's sketches. As a teenager I took formal art classes to hone my artistic abilities. Later, during my college years I studied sketching and watercolor painting. Now my passion is to paint with oils, acrylic and have been learning and exploring with them for quite awhile. My art depicts all aspects of African life.. My customers love that my work depicts many cultural scenes ranging from realistic portraits of Masai children to more abstracted tribal figures, and also includes realistic African landscapes.
