Meditación Painting

Texture is an essential part of my work. It helps me bring out the intrinsic expression in my paintings. It is wet while I work, and I really enjoy the spontaneous expression it takes on as it dries. I try to use colours in a fairly transparent way that lets the texture speak for itself. My pictures are images and reflections of my interior world, given form as abstract imaginary places, coming to me through meditative contemplation. Perhaps these "imaginary places" change, go and return overtime. The memories of the Atlantic Ocean, when I was a girl, and the Mediterranean sea, more recently, they are the visual language through which I communicate through my pictures. Those pale browns and the colours of the earth may reflect my recent time away from the sea. La textura en mis cuadros es una parte esencial de mi obra. Es una expresión muy intrínseca que ella me ayuda a mostrar. Está mojada cuando la trabajo, y se seca y toma una expresión espontánea que yo la disfruto mucho. Los colores, trato de usarlos con cierta transparencia que deje a la textura hablar por ella misma. Mis pinturas son imagenes y reflecciones de mi mundo interior que las puedo mostrar con lugares abstractos imaginarios. Llegan a mi con profundad contemplación y meditación. Quizás estos lugares imaginarios cambian, se van y vuelven. Los recuerdos del mar Atlántico, cuando era nina, quizás el mar Mediterráneo en estos tiempos, son el medio de comunicarme en mis cuadros. Los marrones pálidos, quizás son porque ahora no estoy cerca del mar. Todas estas « imagenes » van y vienen adentro mio, enriquiciendome cada día!
