Born in 1980, native of Lille in Northern France, Amaury Dubois studied art at the Institut Saint-Luc in Tournai, Belgium. Contemporary artist with lively and colourful paintings, recognizable by their significant curves, he is now part of many private collections around the world and regularly exhibits his work at major art world meetings. His primary philosophy is to "paint the invisible that yet surrounds us". The movement of air, fluids, water, wind, light, all these energies that pass through us in which we walk and swim constantly. Man is constantly bathed in a mixture of atoms that exchange, move. We are not frozen but in constant mutation. Every second our atoms leave us to create something else and are replaced by others. Amaury Dubois' paintings attempt to reveal this symbiosis, where man and the world become one. We can surely recognize some inspiration from the surrealism mixed with cubism in his colourful painting, but the artist speaks of "Courbism". Because there is nothing straight in reality. Because he has taken the side of destroying the straight lines. Because revolts can't stand straightness. Because his style was nourished by a passion for all that is fluid, liquid, watery. A true pictorial synthesis of his way of observing the world, the curves of Amaury Dubois' works will take you on the infinite journey of his mind.
