ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The artworks are inspired by collars taken from various national and historical portrait collections. My works are usually painted with egg oil tempera on canvas, panel or historical textiles that are founded for painting. The substrate and material are part of the creative process. The white collars are what´s investigated. In this painting the black background has a faint hint of the colour Mauvein. The first organic dye produced synthetically.
