This painting is based on Pre-Columbian paintings, also it tributes to the ‘Day of the Dead’ festival celebrated in Mexico, the energy is in the colors, the characters are celebrating this day. The characters and background are painted in a rustic way which plays with vibrant and cheerful colours. The name plays on the meaning of ‘milk’ as the maternal nourishment of life and the contrast of the black skull.

Lucas Rodriguez, Architect graduated from the University of the Republic of Uruguay, independent musician from a very young age and self-taught plastic artist. He was born in the small town of Salto (Uruguay), into a middle-class working family. From the age of 7 he felt a strong connection to drawing and the creation of imaginary worlds which led him to telling his parents that he wanted to be an architect. In his adolescence (14), after receiving a Spanish guitar from his grandmother, he dedicated himself to learning music in a self-taught and serious way where it then became a big part of his youth. After several years of underground music and recording an album in his hometown, he moved to Montevideo (Uruguay) to finish his studies as an architect. In Montevideo he meets various visual artists and begins to play in some bars again as a hobby. In the meantime he puts all his focus on his university studies while working for some time as an architect workshop assistant. In 2014 he finished his studies and graduated as an architect at the public university of Uruguay. In this period, he simultaneously begins to dedicate his whole time to his deepest passions, music ,art and architecture. After the company he worked for went bankrupt, he decides to take a trip for a year, which would lead him to start painting his first landscapes and people. With a trip that includes part of Europe (France, Spain, Italy, England, Turkey) and parts of Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Gili Islands) he finds the inspiration to do a truly unique art that integrates a mix of all these beautiful places. He currently resides in New Zealand, Wanaka, where he works as an architect. He spends his remaining time painting, drawing and creating music while pulling inspiration from the people that surround him. to be updated
