About The Artwork

The Mind’s Eye Series is a subset of my ongoing surreal Dissonance Series which focuses on perception and choice with a bit of humor. These themes were born of hindsight and song lyrics that referred to life as a "fast moving river of choice and chance". The Mind’s Eye Series specifically deals with the lenses (of belief/attitude) that we choose to wear and through which we choose to interpret our experiences. Our choices are based on the resulting perceptions. The work combines acrylic paint and UV cured ink on sealed oriented strand board and the original collaged photographs include those of my welded/fabricated found metal eyewear. I hope that the viewers will reflect on their perceptions and choices and that they will act wisely as a result. The work is easily hung and is framed with white lacquered basswood.
