ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In 2019 I was awarded an artist residency at Cill Rialaig Arts Centre, Co. Kerry off the west coast of Ireland. This painting was inspired by that time as a landscape of rock and sea surrounded me. Light and ethereal 'Mirrored' mixes yellow tones that are disrupted by splashes of blue. Each layer of paint has been vigorously worked on before finding shape and rebuilding the composition with oil bars and charcoal.

Her practice is influenced by the American abstract expressionist movement and the expressive content of her own experience as a former professional Irish dancer with Riverdance- The Show. Artists such as Joan Mitchel, Sean Scully and Willem de Kooning have inspired her work.
