ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painted on location while looking out to see on the North Devon coast. I studied the incoming tide by sketcing the movement before putting paint to canvas. The liquid layers and flowing movent of this piece represents the forever-changing state of the lapping tide. I used palette knives and flat edged tools to pull textures across the painting. Spray painted underlayers evoke a hazy sea spray texture. This piece has painted canvas edges.
