SERIES Val d'Anniviers - In August, I spent a week in Zinal and the surrounding mountains and villages at the end of the Val d'Anniviers in the Swiss Alps to make sketches and gather impressions for later studio paintings, but also to paint outdoors. In this view of the majestic Moming Glacier from the top station of the Espace Weisshorn, the mixture of sun and clouds made the light and cloud shadows dance across the snowfields. I only had a sketchbook and pencils with me and quickly made a few sketches and took some photos, which I turned into this watercolor painting in the studio. Materials used: Watercolors (Artist Quality) on ARCHES® mould-made Watercolor paper, 100% cotton, 185 g/m²
