Technique:
Mixed technique on canvas with gouache, - acrylic paint and oil pastel chalk with the self-made Gesso I primed the canvas in several steps. The first coat of paint was made with gouache and acrylic paints, which were applied with a brushstroke, mixed and painted. During the painting process, the canvas lay on the floor. In order to give the dead cactus the impression of liveliness, I modeled the surfaces in the foreground with oil pastel crayons and light-dark tones. The color of the imposing table mountains in the background was very glazed. In order to make the areas livelier, structures were rubbed into the wet paint using a toothed spatula
Theme:
Even as a child I was fascinated by the mountains and lakes. However, when I saw Monument Valley for the first time, I could not believe my eyes. The shimmering hot air, this barren, sandy red landscape and not to forget this madness. In my mind's eye I saw the landscape full of rain clouds, green oases, lakes and rivers. However, this did not correspond to reality, due to the enormous heat about 40 ° Celsius that prevailed there was a longing for refreshment and shade. Reality caught up with me every time I left the car to photograph one of the imposing table mountains. I knew that I had to paint the Monument Valley from my felt perspective, I owe that feeling.

Born 1959 in Duesseldorf, Germany In 1996, my exploration of abstract and figural painting and in-depth studies began various academies at home and abroad. In 2009 I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas / USA and since then, painting has become my creative center, another form of life as a freelance artist. My current themes emerge from daily life. Experienced, dreamy situations captivate me and want to be implemented in various variations of collage, assemblage and painting. Current events and a look into the future bring exciting things to light. In Little Rock, Arkansas and Miami, Florida / USA I have been able to present my pictures in numerous group / charity exhibitions. At the end of 2012 I returned to Germany, since then I live in Bad Aibling and have a studio in Pullach near Bad Aibling. 2013 Beginning of an intensive art study at the Leonardo Art Academy Salzburg / Austria with successfully completed masterclass in November 2017 with Prof. Hannes Baier. I experiment with many materials: e.g. Shoe polish, dishwashing liquid, wax, flour, semolina, curd, egg also in combination with casein, resin-oil mixtures, paste, all kinds of colors in the form of pigments, chalks, oil pastel pencils, gouache, acrylic, ink, sand, varnish, stain or smalt , The accumulation of various liquids often leads to unpredictable effects, which are not achieved by the structure of a brush or paint knife. This makes the use of these techniques and materials so irresistible. Different expression variants are achieved due to the painting style.
