About The Artwork
This painting explores the boundaries between the colour and shape of a place rather than the literal image. Capturing the essence of the light breaking through the dark after a storm. A feeling of hope and a presence of calm but with full awareness of a the previous strength and energy. Layers of acrylic and ink paint peeping through, tiny details of mark making, pencil and charcoal lines. Muted tones of grey and a hint of aqua and lilac. A very subtle and beautiful painting which radiates a great sense of tranquillity and calm. My signature mark making of gentle scratched away strokes and areas of focus and energy.
