This Morada (church) is in the style used by the Penitente Brotherhood, a Catholic sect that ministered to the remote rural areas of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado in the early years of Hispanic settlement. It is a unique subject to paint and one worth capturing as the late afternoon sun illuminates its surface.
