Enric Rubió was born in 1964 in Sant Jaume de Llierca, Girona in Spain. From a young age, Enric was drawn to drawing and painting. At the age of 9, he entered at the School of Fine Arts in Olot under the direction of artist Joan Vilà Moncau. Some of his instructors included Joan Ferrés, Xavier Viñolas, Paxinc and Fernandez de Castro, Auli y Carbonell. At the time, Enric Rubió was interested in learning the painting style and craftmanship characteristic of classical artists from Olot, such as basic methodology, and particularly the “plein-air” landscapes of precursors Joaquim Vayreda and Josep Berga Boix.
