Muraz Martirosyan was born in 1957 in Megri, Armenia. In 1973 he entered the College of Sculpture where he specialised in restoration graduating after two years in 1975. Later that year he enrolled at the Panos Terlemezian State College of Arts where he studied for five years till 1981. He continued his education at the Yerevan Academy of Art and successfully graduated it in 1987. During his studies he took part in about 32 group exhibitions both in Armenia and other countries of the Soviet Union. He was awarded Third Prize in 1985 when he took part in the Soviet Union's Academic Student Exhibition, which was a great achievement . In 1988 he became a member of the Association of Young Artists of Armenia. One of his sculptures was acquired by the ministry of Culture of Armenia and another one by the Union of Artists of Armenia. Since 1992 he has been living and working in Prague. Over the last twenty years he has taken part in exhibitions in Prague, Halle, Essen, Berlin, Mannheim, Lyon, The Hague and other European cities. Many of his sculptures and paintings can be found in private collections in different countries.
