I am a contemporary artist from Indonesia whose practice exists at the intersection of Contemporary Art, Surrealism, Pop Art, Political Satire, Symbolism, and Conceptual Art. Through painting, I explore geopolitics, war, power, social criticism, mythology, human desire, technology, and alternative realities. My work combines symbolic satire, speculative storytelling, and philosophical inquiry. Recurring figures such as Donald Trump, aliens, UFOs, phallic symbols, animals, and absurd objects serve as symbolic agents through which I examine power, media culture, sexuality, fear, mythology, and the contradictions of contemporary society. My artistic universe also incorporates alternate realities, time travel, hidden dimensions, and messages from the future, many of which are interconnected with the fictional and philosophical world of my Al-Lier book series. My practice is inspired by everyday life, personal experiences, photographs of friends, technology, social media, historical archives, and documentary or amateur videos of political and social events. These sources become material for symbolic transformation through satire, memory, philosophy, speculation, and imagination. Long before the rise of AI-generated imagery, I was creating paintings that brought together disparate images, political figures, surreal symbolism, alternate realities, and impossible scenarios into unified visual worlds. Rather than relying on algorithms, I developed these associative and reality-bending visual systems through manual painting, personal mythology, intuition, research, and imaginative reconstruction. Each painting is created using professional artist-grade oil paints from internationally respected brands, including Daler-Rowney, Old Holland, Jackson's, Winsor & Newton, Michael Harding, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh.
