Showed at the The Other Art Fair
Artist featured in a collection
When creating a figurative painting, the artist starts with a realistic style and towards the end, she incorporates abstract elements. The abstract parts start at the background and blend into the figure, sometimes the abstract additions are minimal and sometimes they are more pronounced, depending on the artist's mood and on the specific piece she is working on. Sometimes there are no abstract elements at all, but the figure will get the addition of an unexpected or unconventional element which will give the figure a twist of fantasy or unreality.

Miri is an Argentinian-born artist based in Israel. She worked for Intel for 27 years as an engineer. In parallel, she developed her painting skills by attending drawing classes and workshops. In 2015, she left Intel to fully concentrate on her painting career. Miri’s painting style are abstract and figurative. In her abstract paintings, Miri works intuitively getting inspired on the next steps as the painting develops. At first, the shapes seem random, but layer by layer they start to connect and make sense. The outcome are expressive and captivating abstracts. Miri’s figurative compositions are imbued with romance and sensuality, starting with a realistic figure and incorporating abstract elements into the painting. Miri has participated in 2 solo exhibitions and several group exhibitions in Israel (2018-2023). She has also exhibited in New York (2019), In Italy at a digital exhibition (2021) and in Madrid (Dec 2022). Miri was featured in the Gold List top contemporary artists of today of the international Art Market Magazine, in Oct 2022; and in the Capsules Book, a premium boutique publication based in Melbourne, Australia, named: Curatorial Volume.3, Leaders in Contemporary Art, 2021. Miri was awarded the Gold list international award, a certificate of excellence for unique artistic style, and high-technique achievement in the contemporary art world; and also has received the Special Mention Award in the 2022 Art Vue Foundations’ yearly price competition. https://www.miribaruchart.com/
