ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My aim is to explore colour. In my previous work, I have always used colour sparingly, research would have to dictate it's significant in being used. This collection uses colour as it most important tool teamed with instinctive movement to create an abstract composition. Materials used are acrylic paint and permanent marker.

LGS studio uses the hand-stitching traditional craft juxtaposed with contemporary typography and icons to make artwork and cards. The phrase 'Made to be framed' is at the core of the studio and challenges the consumer to repurpose the card instead of discarding it. Materials are sourced within Europe and recycled, every piece is made to order, reducing waste and allowing more freedom when designing. After studying jewellery design, which is very much about the monetary value of the material, Lucy wanted to look at consumerism from another angle. The value in these cards doesn't come from their materials - it's the priceless act of sending someone a kind message.
