ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The high desert country of northern Arizona yields more vegetation than the low desert country in the southern part of the State. The soil here is a reddish clay mixture, and trees are sparse and low growing. A prickly pear cactus grows at the base of this tree. Mountains frame the horizon. This mixed media art is in gouache, acrylic & ink. Intense colors. I lived in Arizona for a year, and fell in love with the unique desert landscapes.
