About The Artwork

This piece is number 6 in a series of spiritual pieces. It represents a new chapter in my growth. I have always felt connected to Egyptian gods especially the Eye of Ra and the Eye of Horus. I appreciate the Merkabah shape and paint it often. The images painted around the Seed of Life are the Alpha and Omega, Namaste and Spiral. That was on purpose. According to uniguide.com, “The Seed of Life is a two-dimensional illustration that consists of seven circles of the same size, which overlap. There are six circles on the outside, which interconnect with the seventh circle in the middle. The image looks like a set of equally proportioned flowers. The design is not only beautiful; it has profound symbolic meaning.” The words written around the image and the outside of the frame are specific to the image. They are.. "My soul honors your soul. I honor the place in you where the entire Universe resides. I honor the light, love truth, beauty and peace within you. Because it is also within me. In sharing these things we are united, we are the same, we are one. The spiral is an ancient symbol representing the winding journeys we must take inward if we are to truly know and love ourselves. I love you. The seed of life signifies the 6 stages of creation. A symbols of good luck and creative action, the Eye of Ra is a powerful Egyptian symbol that acts as a female counterpart to the Sun god Ra. She is an extension of Ra’s power. She defends Ra and is a partner in the creative cycle of Rebirth at dawn. Alpha and Omega are the first and the last and are used to describe all the God is, all He encompasses. He was at the beginning of all things and He will be at the close or ending. Omega relates to the spiritual evolution. Alpha is the brightest star in a constellation, first and dominant."

I have a profound respect for artistic transcendence through mythology. My art is representative of many different religious symbols, mostly gods and images considered to be sacred. Inspired by books, my personal life, spiritual symbols and their dimensionality, and histories, I paint the emotions they invoke in me. I am heavily influenced by philosophy, Architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright, sacred geometry, Egyptian history, Hinduism, and Buddhist images. My style is perfectly imperfect, wabi sabi. Perfection is a fleeting goal and for me and painting has been a journey into acceptance of myself imperfect, as is. As a lover of architecture, balance and polarity, sacred geometry speaks to my soul. History and world religions are interwoven themes throughout all of these pieces.
