Expressive figurative painter (40 solo exhibitions in Cleveland, New York, Germany), widely published essayist on the arts, part time educator (painting instructor Cleveland Institute of Art, University of Akron, Kent State University), winner of three Ohio Arts Council Individual Fellowships, a Creative Workforce Fellowship (20K Award) 2011, the Cleveland Arts Prize Lifetime Achievement Award 2013.I'm most interested in the sense of presence generated in and through a work of art -- the "aura" which persists. I explore emotional templates that cross temporal and personal boundaries, evoking archetypal forces.
