Description: South African Ndebele culture art, with its geometric patterns and bright colours is the inspiration for this body of work. The collage consists of various small artworks, each 12” x 12” in size and individually priced. Each piece represents three different elements of an Ndebele home. Some of the pieces have thatched roofs, as well as doors and windows. Others represent only a wall and then some are small rondavels (thatched, round huts with mud walls). About the artist’s work: Always looking for interesting, novel ways to portray her environment, Rina uses a variety of media to create depth and texture in her work. Beads are traditional African decorative items and provide a smooth three-dimensional effect. Crochet work is another tradition, handed down from generation to generation and often evokes memories when touched and viewed. Simple, reflective, and highly evocative, especially for those who have lived or visited Africa. About the Ndebele Tribes in South Africa: The culture of the Ndebele people is unique. Historically, each family used a single rondavel for daily activities such as cooking and sleeping. Nowadays, the rondavel is used for traditional ceremonies and as families have grown, square houses have been built alongside for cooking and sleeping. Artwork notes: These small pieces are completely unique and original abstract acrylic paintings on hand-crafted artist canvas, using 100% pure cotton, kiln-dried certified selected timber frame and hand primed with acrylic-based primer. This painting is not framed, but comes ready to hang with the sides painted. Framing is unnecessary, but may be preferred, depending on the client’s wishes. The artwork is signed on the side and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. NOTE: The images in situ are computer generated, might not be to scale and serve for illustration purposes only.

Rina Ritzi creates emotive and exclusive modern abstract art for both personal and corporate spaces. Growing up in the Free State, South Africa, Rina was always creative, but painting was a medium she didn't explore, and her creative passion was put on hold for a number of years. After studying, Rina became an accountant. Not a common career choice for a creative soul, but it appealed to Rina's organised mind, her enjoyment of working with people and a love for numbers. Now, though, that artistic talent, passion and creativity has allowed Rina to free her creative spirit and her artwork is personal, emotional, distinctive, evocative and unique, but it is driven by the need to create something for a client where they have input into the process. Rina's love of the outdoors provides her with inspiration, energy and motivation. The ever-changing colours, light and movement provide energy and vibrancy that translate into a variety of media.
