Nearly Night XI by Gay Summer Rick captures the blood orange glow around magic hour on a beach road. This small painting features a palette of blood orange, to pale oranges with the blue-black palms silhouetted by peach-pink under-painting. An environmentally friendly approach to painting is achieved using palette knives, no brushes. The canvas wrapped edges are hand rubbed with the peach-pink under-painting that is seen in hints of color through layers of paint in the composition. No frame is required. Hang one or a group on nails or pushpins. Will also stand upright on a shelf or desk.
