Amy Illardo is a contemporary abstract artist, living and working on Long Island, NY. From a young age, Amy developed an interest in visual arts as a form of expression and self-reflection. She began her art education at Parsons School of Design, first attending the pre-college program in France and then completing her foundation studies at Parsons School of Design in NYC. There she was first introduced to color theory and The Interaction of Color by Josef Albers. After completing her foundation year she attended Syracuse University, where she explored the mediums of photography, painting and film production. Missing the energy of NYC,she completed her BFA at the School of Visual Arts. Amy's work is rooted in the exploration of color. Her work varies from geometric patterns, spontaneous abstracts and layered botanicals. Regardless of category, the main focus is always color and the relationships that develop from its interaction.
