“Nest No.9” Painting

“Nest No.9” is a serial/ colour/ printmaking inspired work patterned after my painting “Penumbral No.29” (also known as “Nest”.) Inspired by the colour explorations of Josef Albers’ “Homage to the Square”, and the irregular artifacts created by the printmaking process as seen in works by Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol, I devised an approach which combine these ideas to create multiple serial images to initiate investigative observational counterpoints. This painting is acrylic on clear gessoed 10 duck rough edged canvas, overlain with a toner transfer print image, and top coated for durability. The image is 11 5/8”X10 5/8” centred on a 18”X18” canvas and can be mounted on 3/4”-1 1/2” custom stretcher, or can be framed with or without glass as a float mount or matted much the same as any artwork on paper. It’s signed on the back, is stored and shipped in an archival crystal clear bag, and is sold unframed.
