ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I am an expressionist artist, and as a result I was able to put onto canvas some fond memories I had of living in Albuquerque, New Mexico after a conversation about having lived there. The sand storms were very unusual to me at the time. I had never experienced the phenomenon until I moved SW from the NE. This piece has multiple layers of acrylic paint, which represents the feel of the richness that is New Mexico. I hope viewers will be inspired by the raw emotional feelings that the landscape offered to me so many years ago. I still hold them dear to me. I varnished the piece with three coats of high gloss varnish to make the colors purposefully jump off of the canvas to allow one to have a total experience. It will draw you into the fold.

Painting is a medium that came to me later in my life. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to express myself through abstraction. It's a delicious treat... sometimes decadent. I love the challenges that are presented as I contemplate new ideas, implement my thoughts, and watch them become a reality. in addition, I love listening to guests who visit my studio and purchase my art. Thanks to my clients and collectors - both national and international I was able to fundraise for the Charlotte Arts & Humanities Council of Charlotte County (Florida). It was wonderful to be able to dance and paint for such a great cause and to celebrate the arts community through scholarships for students.
