New & old lily pads Painting

This painting captures an image I see every summer at The National Wildlife Refuge. The hot Tennessee sun cooks and shrivels old lily pads while new and green lily pads emerge from the water. What inspired me to paint this subject is the incredible colors that capture the the transformations in each lily pad. I hope this painting will help the viewer to notice actual lily pads on a nature walk. I hope this painting will help the viewer to notice the lily pads as not just flat green plants that sit on top of the water for frogs and bugs, but the fascinating colors and shapes each lily pad takes when evolving from new to old. "New & old lily pads" is painted in acrylic on canvas. The style is similar to realism, impressionism, and/or figurative.
