"Night Out at Caffe Varnaj" (2020)

 In September 2019, I spent a month at an artist residency in the suburbs of Skopje, Macedonia. One day, I went for a walk in the neighborhood and came across this cafe, which looked “unfinished”. The building seemed to be missing a coat of plaster and paint, and yet the chairs and tables set up outside indicated this cafe was open for business. I found out later that such buildings and houses with unfinished exteriors are common in Skopje, as it’s rather costly to beautify the outside of the building. Inside, however, it’s just as finished as any other “completed” building or home. Thus this imagined scene at Caffe Varnaj tells a story of celebrating what’s important - relationships, friendship, community, everyone having a great time together - rather than what a building looks like on the outside.

 - This imaginative illustration is hand-drawn using watercolor, ink and color pencil. 
- The illustration will be shipped without the frame. You may choose how you would like it framed on your own. 
- All original artworks are hand-signed on the front and back by myself, and comes with a certificate of authenticity that is also hand-signed. 

 :: SHIPPING INFORMATION ::
 - This original illustration will ship out within 24-72 hours of payment.
 - Illustration is rolled, wrapped in plastic sheet, and sent in a hard cardboard tube.

 :: PLEASE NOTE ::
 - Each illustration is described, photographed and depicted as accurately as possible. However, due to variations in individual PC monitor hues, it’s impossible for all pieces to look the same on every computer monitor.
