About The Artwork
Hello Art-lover, Thank you for showing interest in my work. This painting is made during lockdown and although I couldn't travel, painting and making Art, allowed me to visit still unknown places of my imagination. I love to "create" landscapes where I use fragmented memories, architectural and nature impressions. I work with layered colors to create interesting textures and depth. My intention was to create a landscape without being too explicit so it leaves the viewer space for proper imagination and exploration. I worked with acrylic paint, oil pastels and crayons on a high quality canvas. The painting has my logo in the corner below and is signed on the backside. SASJA CAPPENDIJK was born in the Netherlands, Vlijmen. After graduating from the famous Design Academy in Eindhoven, she worked several years as a designer. Her love for color and form shifted from Design to Art. The reason why she committed herself in the Art Academy Arendonk, Belgium. Sasja sees her self as an creative pioneer, tracking on a path full of wide and dreamy views and personal insights. Her work moves between expressive abstraction, modern contemporary and more figurative styles, combining mixed medias like acrylics, oil, crayons and watercolors. "I enjoy the dance between subdued and elated rhythm of color and form, they make me feel energized. As I work mostly intuitively, the painting will reveal itself along the way".
